Grade 2!

Grade 2!

My first day in grade 2 I was so brave going to school. Even though I was scared of the new place I woke up early so that I could see the place with mem. 

My teacher is Mr. Bautista and my section is A. My classroom is on the second floor and that means that I have to go up the ramp.  It sure is a long way and it will take me some time to get used to finding the classroom.  Dido said we should make a video so that I could watch it over and over again. 

I am glad that I have a couple of my old classmates in my section. Rea and Sarah sat with me on the first day. I also met a new friend Christine who is like me. She doesn't like Barbie dolls either. 

We had to learn some songs on the first day. We played games like find the pair. Each of us gets a card and we had to find the partner o f our card. I got Pepper Pots. I thought it was food. It turns out she belongs with Ironman. Rea got Olive oil. We paired pepper pots with olive oil.  Turns out olive oils partner is Popeye. Who is Popeye?  Mem says it was a cartoon when gradad was a kid. 

My favorite part of grade 2 is becoming the classroom library assistant. I get to manage the books in the book corner and get the books that our class needs from the library. I love books!  I have to check the book pages for tears and make sure they get put back in the shelf. I can't wait! I think I will join the book club so that I can borrow 2 books at a time.
