Two years and 9 months

Random Things about me

1. I think I like arts and crafts, because I like watching the arts and crafts part of the Martha Stewart show when Memi watches. Sometimes I prefer to watch that segment than to switch the channel to cartoons.

2. I know when I'm sleepy, because I get hyper and one time I said, "Something's wrong with me..." and then I fell asleep.

3. When I was 1 I used to bite red bell peppers because I thought that they were apples. Memi thinks that I liked them, because I did not spit it out. :) The bell peppers in Fairprice are sweet!

4. I'm firm in my decisions. When I say 'no', I really mean 'no'.

5. I like to protest when Memi turns the night light off at bedtime, but I fall asleep really fast after it's dark.

6. I like my morning routines and depend on them. When I wake up, I have a bottle of milk, then go to the potty and change my diapers to big girl pants, then go have breakfast.

7. This summer, my favorite food is lumpiang toge and mashed potato. Also, I like a cold apple and cornflakes after I have my swim.

8. I like scraping out the cream center of Oreos and putting the cookies back in the wrapper. I also like biting Hello Panda cookies in half, and scraping out the chocolate center.

9. When Memi's attention is divided, I say, "Mem, why don't you let me talk?" or "Mem, listen to what I say."

10. I still hate having my nose cleaned, but I can sleep through the night in panties and not wet the bed. Yay! some progress.

11. I think that Jerry is a girl and Tom is a boy.

Kids say the darnedest things

Memi was pretending to be asleep last night. Chab tries to wake her up by shouting, "Memi! Memi! Memi!"

When that doesn't work, she says, "Someone please adore me."

The mystery of the red lollipop

Grandmum bought Chab a red lollipop. Chab broke the stick. Grandmum said here, i'll replace it, and changes the lollipop with a new one and leaves to go upstairs.

A while later Chab breaks the stick of the second lollipop.

As we are going upstairs for bed, we meet grandmum at the landing.

Grandmum: Elisha, o, where is your lollipop?

Chab: I broke it.

Grandmum: (thinking that she was thinking of the first lollipop) No, I gave you a new one, diba?

Chab: But, I broke-d it also..

Grandmum: I don't believe you.

Chab: I don't care!




Ayayay, what 2 year olds would say... Or maybe it's just this 2 year old. Where did she pick that phrase up, and how did she know how to use it?

A Princess for a Day

November 8, 2008

I got to be a flower girl for the first time today at Tito EJ and Tita Jo's wedding.

My dress was shiny brown with an orange bow at the back. :) I was very excited to get the dress early and try it on. I practiced at home pretending to smile and walk down the aisle. I also practiced waking up early for 1 week, because the wedding was at 8 a.m.!

I got new white formal shoes, white stockings, and a shiny, pretty clip at IKAY to go with my dress.

When we arrived at the Magallanes church on the day of the wedding, I was scared, because I saw all the people! But after seeing the other kids, I started to relax. I did practice runs down the aisle holding my Memi and Grandmum's hands. Then I walked on the red carpet again with my Dadi, and again, by myself.

I got a ball of orange flowers to hold and more orange flowers to wear on my head. Then, I was ready. I'm proud to say that I was able to walk down the aisle when it was my turn to [even though Memi walked with me a bit at the start] and I walked all the way to the front alone.

Grandad and Grandmum came along to take a video of me. You can see the video at our house. :)

At the end of the day, I was so tired and wanted to remove the dress, the stockings, the shoes and the clip in my hair! Being a princess is not easy. :)

But I did love dancing at the reception and playing around in my dress. Thank you tito and tita for a beautiful dress and yummy muffins for breakfast.

This time for real!

November 6, 2008, Thursday

This time it was for real! Last thursday was my first time to pee in the real toilet. Memi put me in a panty that morning. We were in the den, and Memi was at the computer, then, I said, "Memi! Memi! MEMI!!!"

Memi looked and saw me looking like I had to pee [because I was sticking my butt out]. Then, she brought me to the toilet [the real one and not my potty] I was holding my pee for 20 seconds, but then I did it! I heard the sound, and I had peed in the toilet. :) Good thing I recognized that I had to pee AND called Memi AND was able to hold it till we got to the toilet. :)

I'd been wearing diapers for the past couple of days because I kept wetting myself wearing panties, and that Thursday when Memi put me in the panty, I think I knew that I had to tell her when I needed to go. I didn't want to wet myself again. :)

I made up a song today, while I was playing with my cooking toys. It goes like this:

Big girl pants

I'm wearing big girl pants during the day now. Augh! I hate getting wet all over when I pee. I haven't been able to make it to the potty yet or say that I am ready to pee. I just stop, and then watch in shock as a yellow drip pools around my legs. I'm frozen in the ground when that happens.

28 months and spelling

Thanks to my Tita Roberta's gift from my 2nd birthday I can now spell using my Boggle Jr.

I'm starting to recognize letters now. At first I only knew 3 letters. O, X , W (because of Elmo's alphabet Jungle) and M (because of my favorite chocolate M & M's).

Now, I can spell baby, boot, moon, road, and all the cards in my Boggle Jr. game! I can recognize more letters now, including E, B, C, D, S, A, I (which I call 'straight line') and P.

I love the spelling game!

Grandad was telling a story about what happened at the skyway office. He was talking to Memi in Tagalog since Chab was playing facing the other way near Tito Joey.

Chab goes to Grandad and yells,

Remembering Rewards

" I got a candy, I got a candy!"

Memi said, I'll get a candy if I use the potty. I haven't been able to use the potty yet since the last time, but I remember that she gave me one for packing away my toys. So, I tried asking for one yesterday for packing away my toys. :) hahah.

This morning I read my book, Spot's Special Days, then I asked Mem,
"Can I have a candy? Because I read [the book out loud], diba?"

I Love Buchi!

I love buchi! At the end of my meal at Fu, Serendra I ordered one from the waiter. :) It was my 3rd time there. :)

1st time successful

I've been trying to use the potty for a while now ever since March. At first, I was afraid of it and didn't want to go near it. After a month, I learned to sit on it and pretend, but I still had my pants on. When Memi asked if I wanted to use the potty I said, "NO!".

After a while, I learned to recognize when I needed to pee. So, I would tell Memi that I need to pee, but didn't make it to the potty. Then, one day, I did it! I peed in the potty! Yay! My first time! And, there was a second time too!

I forgot about using the potty after that. Not until this month did I start using the potty again. Memi said if I did, I would get my favorite candy, strawberry Sugus. 1 candy for peeing and 2 candies for pooping. I did a couple of wee-wees. I know it's coming because I always feel hot there... :) haha..

No success for pooping yet though.

Today, I felt hot and I told Mem. I sat on the potty for a while...then Memi said, if I poo in the potty I'll get 3 candies! After a few tries - my first POOP! Hooray!

I got my 4 candies! (because I peed too). I'm so proud of me.

And Memi is too. :)

Monday Fun in the Park

Today, Mem, Tito Joe and I went to Heritage to visit Lola Liza at 4pm.

I got to fly a kite all by myself for the first time today! :) Yay! It was flying high and it dipped to the right. and to the left when I pulled the string up and down, up and down. :)

I ran around the grass and we had a small picnic with Cheetos, marshmallows and eggnog cookies. I tried shouting while a big marshmallow was in my mouth, but all that came out was, "uuuurrrhhh!".

We all ran down the hill when I let go of the kite string! We chased the kite down the hill and I spilled my cookies :c because I was holding them while running.

I brought my little tykes trike, but it wouldn't roll down the grassy hill, so Tito Joe tried pushing me. Weee! We were moving. Then, Tito Joe made it go faster, the wheels weren't turning that well, because the grass was thick, and it toppled over! I fell into the grass face-forward and Tito Joe tumbled over me in the air and down the hill!!! Yahhhh!

When I got up, there was grass in my mouth! Wah! Gross. Memi gave me some water and a hug so that I would feel better. I wasn't hurt, because the grass was soft, but it sure was prickly!
Still, after everything, I got on my bike once more to try again, this time slower, because you have to get up and try again even if you do fall down. :)

A good hour of the day well spent.

Before, going I did the sign of the cross, and prayed for Lola. I said, "I miss you so much, Lola."

I waved goodbye from my carseat window. Bye Lola! ;)

Same hair

My 1st VTR at 24 months old

This was my first VTR. I was 24 months old here. Came along with Tito Botchok and cousins Kiana and Kaiel for VTRs at 2 agencies :)

Chab update - August 2008

I got another bangs haircut from Memi yesterday and this time I was really awake with no distractions except for the TV. I might be ready for a real haircut!

Dadi got me a pet goldfish the day before yesterday. I call her Dorfy, after Elmo's pet fish, Dorothy. I feed her every morning. :)

25 months

I'm in my 'NO' phase. I say "Naaahh!!" to everything anyone suggests.

Mem: "Milkee time!"

Chab: "Nah!"

Dadi: "Sleepy time!"

Also, I'm loving the Little Einsteins right now. I have 10 episodes I watch over and over. I can't get enough! I watch it, when I wake up, and after lunch, and during dinner, before sleeping and in between everything I do! I like Annie the best. I'm Annie. I assigned Dadi to be Quincy and Mem to be June. I like singing all Annie's parts while putting one hand on my chest and the other one up in the air.

Some habits of my habits right now are putting up my feet [or else I can't sleep], grinding my teeth [ I do this when I get new teeth], and jumping on the bed.

I stopped using a sippy cup already for meal time and switched to a normal 'big-girl' glass. Sometimes, when we eat out, and they don't have a high chair, I just sit in the 'big-girl's' chair and eat by myself if I can.

Chabby and Dadi time

Last night I had 'chabby and dadi time'. It was fun. We opened the toy box and spill, spilled all the toys on the floor. Like I always say, "Speeeelll, I want to speeeeellll, speeeelll all the toys!"

Dadi and I played with my new toys from my birthday party, then, we read my favorite Little Einstein book together on the floor. Dadi was lying down on the floor on his back, and I was lying down on top of Dadi looking up at the ceiling while we read the book. :) I made him read it to me 4 times. :)

Later, Dadi got an idea. We took the red permanent maker and painted my toe nails. At first I didn't want to, but when Dadi said, your turn first, then me, I agreed. Hahahahahaha! :)

First time in the rain

It was my first time to take a bath in the rain last week. At first, I just watched from under the roof and I was afraid to go out. But, Dadi said it was ok and even got a paper boat for me to float in the little flood at the side of the house. After I put on my havaianas, I jumped in the puddles on the floor with Grandmum. It was fun! Dadi took my video. I was soaking wet! I [fake] cried when my paper boats sank.

Tito Joey: When you are in 2nd year high school, you have to catch a frog and cut it open.

Lola's death anniversary

Yesterday was ngonga's death anniversary. We went to visit her, had a picnic and then we had mass for her. I fell asleep before we made it to the mass, because I was so tired from the morning when I had my first VTR.

My 1st class at Gymboree

I had my first class at Gymboree. I got to play by myself for a while because I was early. I had fun climbing and jumping on the trampoline. The place was very colorful. I had fun playing with Memi and then with Dadi. :)



My teacher arrived at 4pm and so did my other classmates. My classmates names were Sam, Anika, Paola and Sidney.

I was excited and curious to see what would happen because it was my first time in a class. Memi said I was very good at sitting and listening to my teacher, even when all the other kids were distracted and running away to play.



The theme for the day was monkeys, ooh aahh!!! We pretended to be monkeys, looked around for bananas, fed a monkey puppet some bananas, had a pretend coconut cafe where we climbed small hills and then did the BANANA SHAKE and the gorilla stomp, crossed the bridge to monkey island, climbed a make-believe tree to pick a banana, sang songs about monkeys with actions - CLOMP!, and hung around the monkey bars like a monkey. I was the best at hanging. I could hold on for 22 seconds, everyone held on for 9 seconds. I practice hanging at home a lot!

We also sang a song with Jimbo the clown of Gymboree, caught a lot of bubbles, and made a colorful house with the parachute. We played in and out with a long and colorful garter.





We shook colorful maracas and then played the keeping game with a song, "this is the way we pack away, pack away, pack away" to the tune of the wheels on the bus.

At the end teacher gave everyone stamps for being good, but I didn't want any, because I didn't like to stamp it on my body..heheheh!

I am 2 today!

I am officially 2 years old today!

I had my party last Saturday and all my cousins and friends came to play with me at Fun Ranch. We had spaghetti, chicken and lechon! My cake looked like a barn and I had many cupcakes with cute barn animals on them. Everyone got to play in the activefun play area. I think they all loved it. :) I love playing in activefun.

I couldn't blow out my candle because I'm afraid of fire! But, maybe next year :D





My dress was from Gingersnaps and my cake was by Bohemia. Thank you everyone for the gifts and I hope that you enjoyed your lootbags! : )

23 months, full of surprises

I say many surprising things now. Memi, and my family are so amazed. I can fix small things like when pieces of my toys come off, I can put it back on my own. I love drawing with my crayons. I notice all the details, especially when riding in the car seeing all the sites. I know when we are almost to the grocery or to my play gym Activefun.

I have my own name for SM/or the mall - it's ikay-ikay. I dunno, I just made that one up. Memi likes it. I also made up words like bugga bugga, and honkey donkey. Another word I made up is poo poo stick - that means pogo stick.

My favorite food nowadays is cake! I have to have cake once a week or just before sleeping, whichever Memi will allow. :)

I'm noticing that it's almost my birthday and I know the place that I am going to have it. I started looking at lootbags, and tasting LOTS of cake. I love taste testing cotton candy and popcorn too! ;) I'm excited for my birthday. I hope that I can blow out the candles on my birthday cake, that's why I'm already practicing.

I know and use words like gravity, stethoscope, paparazzi and heart pressure.

22 months

At 22 months I mastered climbing up and down the stairs. :) I don't like to be carried especially when I can climb stairs on my own. I ngove watching playhouse Disney. My favorite shows are Clipard (Clifford) puppy days, Mickey Mouse cubhouse (clubhouse), Save-ums, Cocoyo (pocoyo) and Jojo's Circus. I like playing hide and seek, especially in the dark when I can use my pwashngite (flashlight). I love toys and not just toys-things! anything I find new I want to try, touch and hold. I ngove throwing my toys out of the box and making a big mess...Kangat!!! (kalat)

I'm used to sleeping in the afternoon now, and it doesn't take me long to fall asleep at 4pm. But, if I don't get my nap, you can tell I'm sleepy when I say I want to "doog something" or "I want to spill spill everything."

I'm still practicing using the potty. I haven't gotten down to pulling my dipies off before using it, but sometimes I like to sit on it. Mostly, I use the the potty as an excuse to go down from the bed when I know it's bedtime, because Memi doesn't let me go down unless it's for potty. And then, I go straight for the ref!

When something I like is all out, like oreos, I say, "We have to go to the gwocewy and buy more."

I don't like when my clothes are wet, I immediately ask Memi to change my shirt if water spills on it. :)

I love going out for car rides. I sit voluntarily in my car seat, but I won't let the trip go by unless I get a chance to drive too! If we go home and I haven't had a chance to sit at the driver's seat and play around in the car, I will stay for a few minutes, before going into the house again.

I still use my pwaygwound (thank you dadi) but now, I mostly use the slidewee. :) I can almost slide by myself, but I prefer if Memi is holding me. I like playing dagan dagan in the garage with toto Doey too.

My favorite food these days are bubuwan (polvoron), chuckie (chocolate milk), CHOCOLATE, cake, french toast and jengy snakes da sweet wan. (jelly snakes)

My ninang Kat has chickenpox. Memi told me this. So, I said, "I want to buy chickenpox." Memi said, "You cannot buy chickenpox, you can only get it." So, I said, "I want to get chickenpox when I grow up. I want to give Tito Doey chickenpox when he grows up."

Hahaha, said Memi.

I can sing "I have two hands" and "I'm a little teapot" all by myself ;)

I learned that song last night before bedtime. I made memi sing it 10 times until i memorized the song and the actions. Then, after the tenth time, I sang along with her and made her sing it 10 more times.

Then, Memi asked me to sing it all by myself and I did!

Napping, Eating and Meltdowns

Meltdowns! I have lots of them when I am sleepy or cranky. You can tell that I need sleep when I start taking gibberish and I crumple to the floor at the drop of a hat.

I'm still trying to get into a regular nap time. I can't fall asleep by myself yet, unless I am REALLY tired like when I haven't napped for the whole day.

I'm not into eating nowadays, because my second molars are growing, but I can buckle my own seatbelt now.

Here is one thing I like though, SNACKS! Here's a pic of Dadi and me eating nachos and salsa. :)

I'm a bedgtabol gehl.

I ngove (love) eating vegatables. Grandmum calls me a vegetable girl. I don't like meat unless I am really hungry or Memi hides it in the rice.

I've been really cranky for the past days because I'm growing my second molars. I think Memi will blender my food again just so I can eat it.

I love eating corn, asparagus, broccoli, cauliflower, and cabbage. I want all my meals to have vegetables in them.

Blowing bubbles

I blew my first bubble last night with Dadi and Memi watching. I'm practicing for my birthday coming up :)

I used my dora non-spill bubble holder and bubble wand and blew 5 bubbles! Hooray for me!!!

Memi and Dadi are so proud of me :)

I can recall many things now, even if they were days away. I like to say, "you member?" (you remember) to you, but I only say the experiences I had with you.

Like with Memi it's, you member the milk spilled from the tea (scoop) and you wipe it with tissue with water from the glass?

And with Gwanmum it's, you member the kakawoach in the gwocy (cockroach in the grocery).

And with Dadi it's, you member the popcorn in the swing? higher, higher!

And with lolo it's, you member the cake and candle...blow! (on lolo's birthday)
